Installing oracle 10g on AIX 5

Hi guys !!! Help me

I need to install the oracle on AIX 5 and don't know any configuration on AIX regrading oracle database.Would you tell me some advance configuration which is used to install the 10g version.AIX supports to run the oracle10g.Please reply me as soon as you can.I will be so thankful to you.

You can choose different methods to install the oracle 10g on AIX system.The respective methods are suggested below :

• Interactive Installation Methods
• Automated Installation Methods Using Response Files

Whenever you choose Interactive method,The oracle universal installer shows a number of display screen to fill the required information and can perform the database creation also.

And when you go ahead for Automated Installation method it is being used when you don't have any X-window facility and need multiple installation with the same configuration.You can perform this task using Response file in two different optional modes :
1- Silent
2- Suppressed mode

Database Installation Types :

You can select one of the following installation types during installation :

• Enterprise Edition
• Standard Edition
• Custom

In the case of Enterprise edition,it covers the installation of licensable database configuration and management tools.It also install all the provided products which comes with Standard Edition installation.The installed products of Enterprise edition are being used into warehousing and transaction processing.On other hand,the Standard edition install those products which is being used to integrated management tools,Web features and building business-critical applications.
If we talk about the Custom installation,it makes enable us to select the features manually to install.

Database Configuration Options :

During the installation procedure,you would be prompted to choose the database creation option.Choose,if you want to create the database after your choice,Database Configuration wizard will show you some options to create a preconfigured database to create,Choose one of them and edit it according to your desire.The options are :

• General Purpose
• Transaction Processing
• Data Warehouse

Available Installation Options :

The installation option is used to simplify the management and configuration of database.Now its up to you whatever you want to choose :

Database Storage Options provides three options to store the datafiles called File System,Automatic Storage Management,Raw Devices.

Database Management Options includes the Web-based management tool called Oracle Enterprise Manager to simplify the administration of database.

Database Backup and Recovery Options If you choose the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control during the installation then you can choose the backup and recovery procedure optionally.

E-mail Notification OptionsIf you are going for this option,you need to configure the database with some information
1- The name of the host to Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server
2- The e-mail address that should receive the alerts

Using Network Attached Storage or NFS File Systems :

The oracle database should be able to know the writing is being successful after completing the writing procedure.The NFS file systems doesn't guaranteed for successful writing completion and this case can be perform the data file corruption.
