Windows 7 Activation Patch from Microsoft ?

Hi, i am a Windows Vista user and planning to upgrade one of my system to Windows 7. But what i heard today ? I heard somewhere that Microsoft is about to release a patch to activate Windows 7 without any serial key. Is that true ? If yes, how could be so ? I tries to search about this on net but dint got much info. Do you guys know what is the name of this Patch ? Please let me know too.

Yeah, thats correct. Microsoft yesterday announced the imminent launch of new technologies for Windows activation. The new system is called Windows Activation Technologies (WAT) and will be released under a Windows Update later this month. According to Microsoft, most activators and crack for Windows 7 that are posted on the Internet contain a multitude of viruses and Trojans demolish the company's efforts to provide a secure system. Windows Activation Technologies (WAT) will replace the famous Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) which remain active for systems based on Windows XP.

If not able to determine whether your copy of Windows 7 is genuine or not (something like, if you do not know if it was purchased from a legitimate source), Microsoft is willing to lend a hand. In the "coming days", the software giant will push a new update for its Windows Activation Technologies. Technologies, which have to do with "more than 70 known and potentially dangerous activation exploits." The new update uses similar systems to those of the antivirus program to identify when there is tampering with system files and when attempting to disable, and then tries to repair the files.
