Sonic DLA conflict in Windows Vista

Hi,
What is this Sonic DLA Conflict in Windows Vista. I have seen that in my friends pc. I was trying to burn out a disc via Roxio Creator. I simply drag the files to the disc from it and a error popped up. Then I have to forcefully restart Windows in order to get out of that. What is the way to trouble shoot this. Other things which will be the best option to stop some additional vista component to speed up Vista.

The software Easy Media Creator 9, RecordNow Premier 3 are deemed compatible with Windows Vista. However, after installing a Windows update (KB929427) which allows management of direct burning (packet Writing) on DVD via the interface of Vista, a conflict occurs on startup. This conflict can be resolved by removing the Drag to Disc option.

Sonic Solutions DLA driver is blocked due to compatibility issues. It is a conflict between Drag-To-Disc and the Packet Writing function built into Vista. The publisher recommends the Roxio uninstall KB929427. This solution is probably not the best management for Vista is also effective and less invasive than Drag-To-Disc. Also uninstall the update may cause problems for other applications.

Yes it will be better if you uninstall Drag-to-Disc, or any application Sonic-Roxio to make a clean install without Packet Writing software. However, uninstalling products Sonic-Roxio in Vista is quiet simple. You can check back that in your control panel for the recommended software or service and remove that it easily. This is the only solution for that error.

If you want an easy way then you can use SafeMSI. This enables the Windows Installer in Safe Mode. Run this software and boot your computer in safe mode. Because if you try to uninstall the same in normal mode then it will not work. Then once you are success in doing that then restart, do a custom installation program Sonic or Roxio, taking care not to select Drag-To-Disc software or Packet-Writing.

Re: Sonic DLA coflict in Windows Vista

The component integrates Windows Vista gadgets that are useful for some attention. It allows for example displaying the weather or RRS feeds. Convenient yes, but very resource intensive. If you want to disable it, go to the Start Menu, click Control Panel, then double click the icon Windows Sidebar Properties. On the window that is now open, simply uncheck the option Start Sidebar same time as Windows and it is now ancient history.
