Can't install XP but can install UBUNTU on PC

I have ACER 5102 (AMD Turion 64x2) which hangs at logo launch of XP. I run the restore operation to boot: The system loads the RAMDISK, then displays "Please wait" and the screen remains frozen as well. Installing XP from an original CD: Installing RAM in the basic pilot goes well, then the screen shows: Windows installation starts and the screen remains frozen as well. Installing Ubuntu: no problem! What could be the issue?

Try following:

1) Exchange RAM: no change
2) Boot on a DVD restoration: same procedure to restore from the hard drive (longer).
3) Exchange the disc drive and restart the restore from the DVD
Clear CMOS
4) Re-flashing the BIOS
5) Exchange processor

Missing two or three details:

_ Are you installing both on same partitions?
_ HDD, what type, IDE or Sata?

What configuration management drive in the Bios? With AHCI enabled or not?
