When I started my PC today...I got this message

Error signature
""AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 013411a9""

Technical report showed error in this file
"C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\eec0_appcompat.txt"

The real problem is that it doesnt tell the dll file corrupt in this case (ModName: unknown)


plz help ASAP

are u able to boot up properly, or the error occurs during the startup

As of now the problem occurs only at startup..

My internet explorer also gives same message..


I am in serious problem...please help me ASAP...
I haven't turned off my PC since morning fearing it wont start again...SO plz help me

I conducted a malware scan and got this report...

what to do now ???should I delete them ??I need confiramtion that all these files are not crucial system files...


and plz I dont have XP Cd........so take care while giving suggestions..

I deleted all the files...and used AVG to quaranitne the remaining infected files too...and its free of any probelms now except that when i start the PC..desktop appears but icons and task bar take a long time to appear

Which OS are you running?
Do you have any unusually large files on your desktop that may be causing a delay in refreshing your desktop?
You could also try disabling any unnecessary start up items in MSConfig.
Have you installed any new software that loads on start-up?

i think ur pc has been infected beyond repair

the ultimate solution wud b to format ur system
if u cant do it...then get any tojan removing software
google it and u'll find loads of free softwares

This occurs because of virus. Your explorer.exe is corrupted. You can make it run back by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del. Click on File > Run and then type explorer.exe. It will restore your desktop. But if it is freezing continuously then you will have two options to fix this. First you can run System Restore. If this works then ok or else you have to format your system entirely to get rid of this problem.
