desktop with Windows XP not working in Normal mode ?

Dear All,

My desktop with Windows XP with service pack3 is working in safe mode and works with out any problem in safe mode hours together- but does hang after 5 minutes of booting in normal mode.Hard disk is seagate 40GB and hard disk is without any errors and passes the comprehensive test .
I have not added any new software/hard ware and confirmed to be virus free with AVast home edn anti virus s/w.
Can any one suggest what could be the problem ?

I think some installed application is not letting the system run properly in the Normal mode. Uninstall all the recently applications from safe mode and then try to boot the system in normal mode. If it does not work then you will have to reinstall the Windows operating system. While reinstalling the Windows, use service pack 2 instead of service pack 3 as it is more stable.
