    As your device manager is not able to show up anything you can do one thing try to run a clean boot process in order to make the things to work well for you. Follow the steps as follows:

    * Go to the start menu and click on it.
    * Type msconfig on the search box hit enter.
    * Now under the selective startup hide all Microsoft services and disable them.
    * Restart the system.

    This should work.

    You need to run a system repair in order to repair the error that is been caused to the operating system. Use the utility disc of Windows 7 operating system and then start the wizard of installation. Process the same and then try to get the things to work accordingly by following the instructions. Then you would get a repair system option. Click on it. This would help you out.

    Try to work with this solution that is to restart the system under safe mode and then disable the plug and play services. After it is been disabled you then need to re enable the services and then restart the system under normal mode. This may help in sorting the issue out very well. Check out by performing the action as suggested. This should work well out for you.

    There is an alternative for the issue. You can restore your system to the specific date to which it would work out and may then workout well. Al you need is to follow the steps:

    1) Click on the start button.
    2) Now go to the programs option and then to accessories.
    3) Select the system tools option.
    4) Now click on the system restore option that is been mentioned.
    5) Set the date accordingly when it was working fine.

    This will set the system to the date when it was working fine as mentioned by you.
