The problem that is your F6 option is not functioning under windows 7 for the sata drive may be because of the BIOS setup. You need to change the settings for your BIOS. Check out for that. It may be possible that the feature is been disabled under the BIOS due to which you are not able to use the F6 key. Change the settings and make the function key activated in order to keep it working. |

Check out for the motherboard compatibility of the sata drive with the operating system. It is quite very much possible that the motherboard may not support the operating system well or cope up with the highly advanced software due which the drive may not function completely or properly. Make sure that your board support the feature for the same. This should let you to a conclusion. |

Initialize the sata drive disc first on your system. It can be done by following the steps as mentioned below: 1) Go to the start menu and click on it. 2) Then go to programs option. 3) Click on Accessories. 4) Go to Administrative tools option. 5) Then go to computer manger and click on it. 6) You would get a option as Disk manager. Initialize the disc by processing the steps. |

There is a possibility with the IDE compatibility feature for the sata drive on your Motherboard in BIOS. You need to check for the issue well there in order to get the problem understand and make it get sorted. You can check for the compatibility and try to execute well with the process. This should relevantly help you well. If it is not compatible then the problem is with the operating system. You need to downgrade or upgrade your system |
