Access menu via console

Hi all,
I made a big blunder on Xmame. I was in the menu to change some key without noticing it, I changed the button to display the menu and I have not put any (Press Esc at the request of key assignment). Is there a way to access the menu via the console or another? Thank you in advance

Re: Access menu via console

Hi,
Notwithstanding the fact that xmame is quite old and surpassed all (you should instead use sdlmame), although it must store its config keys somewhere in your personal folder. Try to see the side of the folder ~ /. Mame, or perhaps it has its own config in ~ /. Xmame or a similar case. Hope this helps you. If you have any more problems then do post back.

Re: Access menu via console

Hi
I go to the /. Xmame, there is a Control file with different text file or it is written:
Quote:
<port type="UI_CONFIGURE">
<newseq type="standard"> KEYCODE_TAB OR KEYCODE_1 KEYCODE_3 </ newseq>
Finally, I feel quite lost.
Edit: I use the Xmame.SDL made, but I never makes the difference between the two. I forget that these are two separate emulator.

Especially the version that matters is the xmame in deposits remained Mame sdlmame 0106 while following the developments and must be version 0135 and wheelbarrows.

At worst, you erased or you rename the file. Xmame for it recreates one with the default settings. But you lose all your config. You can also try to delete / rename the file only control (MCU?) If that is what the config stored keys.

Re: Access menu via console

Hello
Thanks for your help, but sorry it does not work. I even uninstall and reinstall Xmame ... inconclusive. The file you mention is here>> / etc / xmame? I try with kxmame but impossible to launch a Roma (But I've been good in the right folder) My main concern is, the application is installed properly and is it in the correct folder?

Hey,
Yes, I speak of your personal folder. Avoid deleting files in / etc, you might plant a beautiful mess in the system.
Reminder: ~ represents your home folder and a folder / file that starts with a dot are hidden. We must therefore show hidden files in your personal folder to view Xmame. For kxmame, it is more highly supported either. And if you sdlmame passes, there will be a priori not managed by kxmame (unless a newer version is available in the repositories) but there are other front ends.
