This could be possible because of the Task Offload setting and that is why your network connection might got disconnected or work slow and also it decreases the file copy. It is defaultly enable on the Windows. SO disable it and the system of yours will perform fast. You can check this offload on the command prompt and know about the same. Just try this code in the command prompt which is given below. This will display the offload of teh system then you can disable it and see the speed up of your system.
C:\Windows\system32> netsh int ip show offload

You can try other method also that will disable the offload form the control panel so disable it and enable it with the same whenever you need to use it. Just follow the procedure given below to disable the NIC form the control panel.
    1. Click on the start
    2. Go to the Control panel
    3. Double Click on the Network and Internet Connection
    4. Then to the View Network Status and tasks
    5. Then to the Change Adapter Settings
    6. And disable the NIC
    7. Thats its
    8. . Disable and Enable the NIC from “Control Panel – Network and Internet Connections – View Network Status and tasks – Change Adapter Settings“.
