Improve booting speed of Windows Vista

I have installed a Trail version of windows vista on my computer which has Windows XP in a different partition. The same is not working properly. It takes a long time to boot the computer up. How to improve the speed of the computer and then repair the booting issue. Is there a tool which can help to manage multiple partition on the same computer. What are more options available to activate a trial version. I want to improve the booting speed of Windows Vista.

To improve the booting speed. Click the Windows Start button. In the Search box on the Start menu, type msconfig and press Enter. Utility System Configuration window opens. The Startup tab (not Start) lists the items that start automatically. Some are not essential when starting the PC, such as iTunes, Adobe Reader, the tool indexing of Microsoft Office, Internet software like the Google Toolbar Notifier or compression as Winzip. Uncheck these, but do not touch items that refer to the operating system. Click OK and reboot Windows. Check Do not show. To eliminate the recurring appearance of this message. In case of problems, turn the item that prove necessary, possibly in safe mode if Window s refuses to boot normally. Besides speeding up the startup relief this list helps to expedite the overall functioning of Windows.

By default, when you close Vista, the system waits for twenty seconds that the program's internal system is called services are closed. After this period, the recalcitrant services are automatically stopped. You can reduce this delay. To do this, run Regedit and open successively the keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, System, CurrentControlSet, Control. In the right pane, double-click the value WaitTo KillServiceTimeout. In the Editing of the string that appears, enter 1000 and confirm by clicking OK.

In the registry of windows navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Control Panel and Desktop. In the right pane, click twice to the AutoEndTasks and set this value data 1. If these values do not exist, create them: Click the key where they should be and pull down to the Edit menu, New, String Value. Enter their name and press the Enter key. Note: After you enable this setting, Windows will close very quickly all open source software . But select first if there are unsaved files open!

One of the benefits of Windows Vista is that it does not need a product key to use it! You have the right to try for free. Take a friend a DVD to install Windows and install it on your PC. Leave blank form that asks you the key of the DVD and continue the installation. No product key, you get the full version of the system for thirty days. After this period, it will provide a license key in the System module in the Control Panel. Either you buy the license online, or you buy a box and you insert the key provided therein. In no case shall it be necessary to reinstall Windows.

If you have multiple operating systems (so, for example, if you have installed Vista on a PC without erasing Windows XP), you can choose which system is activated by default at startup. Run Easy BCD, click Add / Remove entries for position, add or delete an item from the menu. Then click the Configure button Boot. Choose the system that will run by default after the time specified by Bootloader Timeout. In the second frame, change the title menu for any proposed system. Confirm with the Save Settings button. May it will help to improve the booting speed of your windows vista.
