A file that is required to run search companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup.

    Hi,

Search function no longer works after trying to delete several instances of viruses in Windows XP, SP2. I get the error message, A file that is required to run search companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup. I have even reinstall the file search function. Nothing has worked. Any other ideas out there?

First, uninstall search companion, then try CCleaner. The program retrieves the broom through various components such as the Windows recycle bin, temporary files and log files, the list of recently opened files and URLs and keys in the Windows Registry. Also, many programs cleaned up, including several browsers.

Under "Cleaner Settings" are two tabs: Windows and Applications. Below is a list of items you can check if the intention is that CCleaner cleans them.

The button "Problems" offers the ability to detect errors, such as program components that are no longer used. You can use these errors to a press of a button restore. Through 'Tools' you uninstall programs.

Make changes to the registry or removing files whose function is not clear, could adversely affect system stability. So it is not too casual to jump with the tool, which works pretty thorough.

Then again reinstall search companion !!!
