    ohmy Rundll32.exe error on startup

    Hi all,

After windows loads and after the welcome screen, I get the "Windows cannot find the 'Rundl32.exe file..' error.

    I am running WINXP SP2.

What could be the issue and how do I resolve it?
    Thanks for any help

I think you have accidentally deleted the Rundll32.exe file. You can restore this file by following the steps mentioned below:

    # Put the Windows XP CD ROM disk in the CD ROM drive.
    # Click Start, and then click Run.
    # Type expand X:\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe in the Open box, where X is the letter of your CD ROM Drive.
    # Restart the computer.

Probably your system was infected by some virus which must have deleted the file from your system. To remove this error you will have to edit the windows registry. To edit the registry, type "regedit" in Run. Now located the key saying "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" and open it. Now open the Software folder--- Microsoft folder---Windows folder--Currentversion folder---Run Folder---Now click on the WildTangent CDA file---It will show Rundll32.exe---Now select and then delete it using Delete key. Now save the registry and restart the computer.

This is happening due to the virus that corrupt the file and that is why you are getting this error. Follow the link given below which will clear your view regarding the same.

You can isolate this error even by Repairing your operating system. You can try the other methods but if none is working for you then the last option is repairing your OS. Repairing the OS will definitely solve your problem.
