    Wifi tray icon missing in debian

    Hello,
    I am new to Debian. I just load the Debian Etch 4.0.rc1, wireless internet connection (madwifi), I can not solve certain problems. How to display the wifi icon, it does not appear in my bar next to the clock, while the network icon corresponding to the wire connection therein, inactive, red, But the wifi is active. This is frustrating now. Also, I lost my desktop background by default with the Debian logo, curiously, it no longer appears in the menu.
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello,
    The icon for a wireless connection, are you working under gnome , then if yes then the icon should be there, if not you can add the gadgets in the panel. Otherwise the image is in / usr / share / images / desktop-base /
    Alternatively in the packages, you can find "monitors" for wifi connection. I can not remember their names, but it is surely there. Hope this helps you.

    Hello,
    Although noted, I'm doing my apprenticeship under debian, or the side of "basic" to my question? I am searching for the icon, while realizing the importance of this anomaly. I am very happy with my Ubuntu way> to debian. Rather adept: stability, security, personalization, minimalism and many more. I have yet to understand things up! So, can you help me increase my debian knowledge. Also how can I add users in debian.

    Hello,
    Even I am new to debain and I have some queries in creating a new user.
    In debian: / home / someuser # adduser u1 u2
    Users' u1 is already member of group "u2".
    debian: / home / someuser #
    Or I have to change something in this code
    <policy group="netdev">
    <allow own="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>
    <allow send_destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>
    <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>
    </ policy>
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi
    If you launch nm-applet to use it and you have messages of types
    (Nm-applet: 5558): WARNING **: <WARN> nma_dbus_init (): could not acquire its service. dbus_bus_acquire_service () says: 'Connection ": 1.14" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.Networ
    or simply that it is not working then you must configure the system dbus, the link that you have al look pretty but there are also other parameters of deeper look on google based messages.
    One single thing that takes my head with Debian, ie the system dbus / hal / udev n is not always configure or reconfigure wrong between big update and it takes some research on google to find a solution that you you can never remember memory, but AC is always good to even the best systems in my linux.
