Uninstalling hidden programs in Windows 7

I am unable to uninstall a program from my Compaq laptop Since it is not shown in the add or remove programs list. It might be hidden due to some reasons. Although this program is running smoothly. I visited its official website which states that the program can be removed through the Add or Remove programs. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall the hidden programs in Windows 7

Re: Uninstalling hidden programs in Windows 7

If you remember In windows XP there is a file in which information regarding the installed file is stored. Amongst these file some of the files have the word Hidden at the beginning of the filename . So that the program is kept out of the Add & Remove list. So I think this must be the case with windows 7 too. I don't think that these hidden program can be removed from the windows 7 operating system.

The programs which are not shown in the add or remove programs list the main reason behind this is that they are not made for windows and they will not be shown in the windows add or remove programs list. For uninstalling these programs either go to the programs folder and see whether there are some option available to uninstall these programs and try to uninstall it from there.

The other way to uninstall the program which are not listed in the add or remove programs is to uninstall it directly from the program file folder in the C: directory. You can also uninstall it from start menu by clicking the programs and in that go to the desired program and then check for the uninstall from the menu this will surely uninstall the programs from the system.

Re: Uninstalling hidden programs in Windows 7

I have tried all the procedures mentioned above and they have not helped me. So please give me some other solution because neither the program files contain any sort of information of the program nor the start menu option contain any uninstall option for that program. Any way i would like to thanks you all for suggesting me these useful solutions.

Re: Uninstalling hidden programs in Windows 7

As you said that you cannot find any uninstall option in the program files or in the start menu then there is only one option left if you want to remove that program. Just delete all the files related to the program from the program file directory and also delete all the shortcuts associated with the program. Hope this will help you.
