Video player for Linux based operating system

I am currently using the Ubuntu operating system of the Linux. I am currently not having any media player or the video player for the Linux operating system. The default media player which comes with this operating system is not able to play all the video and the audio files in the computer system. So i want the separate video player which can play all the types of the video and the audio files on the computer system.

Re: Video player for Linux based operating system

You are using the Ubuntu operating system in your computer system and you want to download the media or the video player which can play all the formats of the video and the audio files. There is the default media player which comes with the Ubuntu operating system but you are saying that this player is not able to play all the files formats of the Videos and the Audios. This is because you have not installed the Codecs for the different types of the video and the audio files. You have to install the codec pack to play the video files. After that you will be able to play all types of video and audio files on your system.

Re: Video player for Linux based operating system

I will suggest you that do not install the codec pack for the default video player for your computer system. First you should install the additional Media or the video player application in your system after that install the codec pack for the respective video player. Because there is possibility that the default video player may not be able to play all the files after installing the codec pack. So first install the video player in your system. Some video players come with the inbuit codec so there is no need to install the separate codec pack in your computer. VLC is the one media player which comes inbuilt codec player.

Re: Video player for Linux based operating system

The VLC media player is the very compact multimedia and video player and works with the multimedia framework and it is also capable for the reading almost all the audio and video formats like MPEG-2 format, H.264 format,MPEG-1 format, MPEG-4 format, mp3 format, DivX format, ogg format, aac format etc. This can also play the DVDs, Audio CDs ,Video CDs, and all other various streaming functions. This video player can also be used as the media converter for the streaming in the unicast and the multicast in IPv4 and the IPv6 on the networks.
