    You need to check the optical drive for the issue. Is it the only problem that it gives while burning image files. Does it give the same problem while burning mp3 or video files? this should be checked out. If the problem is with the optical drive then it should give you problem with all sort of burning process that you would perform. So check out for the issue. Also there can be a possibility that the software may have bugs due to which the windows application is not able to burn ISO files.

    There can be a possibility that the bug issue with the windows operating system may have been causing this error. You need to repair the issue by using he windows 7 utility disc. All you need to do is to follow the steps given as below:

    * Insert the Windows 7 utility disc into the Optical drive.
    * Restart the system and boot under the device as your Optical drive.
    * As the system boots it will start the installation process for windows 7.
    * Allow installation and then you would get an option and upgrade.
    * Click on upgrade.
    * This will remove any bugs or place the new file that may have gone corrupt.

    Hope this should work out for you.

    Check out for the optical drive of your system that is the issue could be that the drive may have gone corrupt. Probably the issue could be associated with the lens of the drive. The lens of the optical drive may have got some scratches due to which it is unable to perform the action. Use a lens cleaner solution and then clean the lens of the optical drive in open windows mode. This shall clean the lens of your optical drive and make the things to work proper.

    Try out some other application software to burn the ISO image files to the discs. use Nero suite application software for burning the discs. It maybe possible that the windows application software may not be functioning well in accordance. Check out by using some other application in order to see whether the issue is associated with the operating system or the optical drive.
