Windows 7 backup error Code 0x80780047

Hello! I use desktop system and windows 7 is been installed on it as the operating system. I also do have a hp pavilion laptop and want to set a backup of my desktop drive using an external Hdd. But while performing this task I get a backup error as 0X80780047. Whys is this happening? Can anyone help me out in sorting the issue. Please help.
