Well this can be resolved by plugging the mouse to the back panel of the cabinet. This is because the usb device may not work properly when connected in the front panel of the system as the connectivity power is low as compared to the back port panel. The data rate transfer may loose very quickly so in order to check for the cause you need to see whether it does work well in the back panel.

The issue could basically be with the optical device that is your mouse. It may not be proper or may be older. It would not able to cope up well with the system. Try some other mouse with a new one that is it should have latest firmware updated to it. So check out by using a new mouse. It may work out well. Replace the mouse by servicing it.

Troubleshooting the system shoot sort the problem. There may be some issue associated with the operating system due to which it is responding in such cases. Also update the drivers for video card so that it may function properly if any issues associated with it. Choose the power options from control panel and select the system to sleep never in the option. This should resolve the problem as well.
