If the sound suddenly stopped working in Windows 7, dont worry because it is not the problem of the operating system. There might have been some problem with your audio driver. May be it could be corrupted or some program error in it. I am using REALTEK and it is a good driver that you can use in your system to manage your sounds or audios. Hope that your problem will be solved by installing Realtek High Definition Audio Codec (Windows Vista / Windows 7) R2.37 |

May be you are panicking a lot that is why you are taking this simple issue as a complicated one. Be calm and check your system audio settings. I suppose that sound suddenly stopped working in Windows 7 because your audio may have been muted by the mute button on the keyboard. Un-mute the audio by simply pressing the mute button again or you can also do this in the audio icon in the tray on the right-bottom of the screen. |

I suppose that the sound suddenly stopped working in Windows 7 because of some silly issue. Go to the tray that is located in the lower left of the screen. There you will find an icon for volume. I suppose that the volume may be fully low/down over there because of which you cannot hear any audio. Increase it fully with your mouse pointer. Hopefully your problem will be solved. I have seen many such cases with such silly issues. |

I guess that you are using the same audio driver that you were using with Windows Vista in Windows 7 too. Many of the programs/softwares/applications that are used with the previous versions of Windows are not compatible with Windows 7. I suggest you to download the audio and video drivers that are compatible with Windows 7 that will bring the sound back in your system. |
