| problem booting from cd
i have a problem that i cant fix on my own. need help pls. i have win xp installed on my pc, wanted to install win 7 instead and also format my disk. as i started to do so, pressed f12 on start but it says to select the boot device (although my primary boot device is set to cd rom), and i cant do nothing have to restart. after that i thought that maybe i didnt burn the cd right, so i inserted my original win xp cd but the same thing happened. if anyone knows what i can do, help please thanks |

You should only set the boot-sequence, not the bootable device(s). When you boot from a CD, what you're actually doing is running your computer with a small operating system that's installed on the CD. Check that all cables are properly connected on both drive- and motherboard-side. |
