| bootmgr is compressed in Windows 7 RTM
I have installed Windows 7 RTM very recently which was just three days ago. But there seems to be some issue with Windows. I am not that well versed with computer troubleshooting but it stated something as Quote:

| Re-install Windows
I too believe it is not an issue with the game- Sims 3. This is an issue with Windows itself. My suggestion to you is that you should re-install Windows. It might be that some Windows files might have been not installed. That might include drivers for playing the game on your Windows 7 platform. So first of all get a back-up of your data if in case any thing go wrong, and then Re-install Windows. |

| Custom Install Windows 7 RTM
I too had many errors when I had upgraded my system from Windows XP Service Pack 2 to Windows 7 RTM. I have been using Windows XP for almost 4 years but I was very much impressed with Windows 7. So I got my system upgraded. But I do not know what went wrong in the upgrade process. There were a number of errors which would come up once I booted my system. I then again downgraded to Windows XP and again tried to upgrade to Windows 7 but I still had many errors. I finally thought of doing a custom install of Windows 7 RTM and it helped me resolve the issue. |

| Re: bootmgr is compressed in Windows 7 RTM
Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried to re-install Windows 7 RTM on my computer as well as I tried the costume install for Windows 7 RTM, but nothing provided any solution. The reason being that when I insert the disc in my disk drive and reboot my system and keep tapping the Del key as per my computer setting to load the set-up screen, it states: Quote:

| Disk drive connection
Check your disk drives connection. The disc in your disk drive is not getting read to load the boot files. This happened with me as well when my booting sequence was changed to Floppy Drive and I was trying to boot from disk drive. And even after setting the booting sequence, I Was still not able to boot. I then opened all connections from my Lite-On disk drive and then re-connected them properly. And this allowed to get the setup files from my disk drive. |

| Expand the bootmgr file from DOS prompt
You probably need to expand the bootmgr, which can be done from the DOS prompt. For this you will require the installation Windows 7 RTM CD. Follow the following process to trouble shoot your bootmgr error: Use Windows 7 RTM CD for booting. On the DOS prompt screen type: Quote:
