Windows xp and Windows 7 dual boot forces repairing of installation

I have to reinstall my machine with 2 OS: XP for some software (editing and recording), and Windows 7 for everything. Each has its hard drive.

I started by installing Windows XP on a HDD, then I install Windows 7 on a different hard drive and the bios is the boot disk #1. I had read that this was the way that Windows 7 managed a dual boot but it did not because I don't have the choice of OS in the start.

I've installed EasyBCD, and I've added a new entrance, which allowed me to arrive at dual boot at start of the computer, except that it tells me that XP can not start (it asks me installation of cd to repair the computer). But if I do that I know it is Windows 7 that will be unbootable after that.

It is the 2nd time I reinstall the OS and I did not find any easy solution. So I turn to you, is when I have an error?

In dual boot installation, before booting into the computer you are provided by the choice of selecting the appropriate operating system to start up. However in dual boot installation with another operating system like XP, you may not always have that operating system partition shown with a driver letter in Windows 7. In such case you will have to add a drive letter to the operating system partition in Windows 7 Disk Management.

I arrives at the loading dual boot but it says that windows is missing. This message comes from the dual boot of Windows 7. I went through EasyBCD and I loaded a 2nd entrance but it does not match with my windows XP. Yet in EasyBCD I request the disk or XP is installed and I said D:

That is what the log says:

There are a total of 2 entries listed in the Vista Bootloader.
    Bootloader Timeout: 30 seconds.
    Default OS: Windows 7

    Entry # 1

    Name: Windows 7
    BCD ID: (current)
    Drive: C: \
    Bootloader Path: \ Windows \ system32 \ winload.exe
    Windows Directory: \ Windows

    Entry # 2

    Name: Windows Xp
    BCD ID: () xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Drive: \ Device \ HarddiskVolume3
    Bootloader Path: \ NTLDR

At no time in your log it says that XP is on drive 'D'. The problem is that Windows 7 installation claims the letter 'C'. I am sure that when you boot to XP, XP has 'C' as the volume letter, right? The solution seems to be as follows:
    1. Open Control Panel, and go to Administrative Tools.
    2. Then Computer Management.
    3. If prompted click on Yes.
    4. Go to Disk Management.
    5. Right click on XP hard disk partition that is missing it's drive letter, then click on Change Drive Letter and Paths.
    6. Click on Add button.
    7. Select "Assign the following drive letter", then select a drive letter and save the changes by clicking on OK.
