First, open the command prompt, type CMD and in the command prompt, type REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL.

If this fails, check the APPWIZ.CPL component failure. If so, try running SFC (System File Checker) in / SCANNOW option (ie, type SFC / scannow). You may be asked to provide the CD-ROM in Windows XP.

If that does not work, you can run in-place upgrade from the CD-ROM for Windows XP - Insert the CD-ROM, and select "Upgrade to Windows XP."

Re: Add/remove programs listbox.htc not registered

By installing and uninstalling programs, the Add / Remove Programs in Control Panel may display the installed programs incorrectly. The Currently installed programs box may contain only a text string, or may display a large blank space before the program entries. Microsoft MDAC_TYPE 2.6 install, restart the PC and that should solve the problem. If that fails, then uninstall and install IE MDAC_TYPE.
