Re: Installing Virtual XP on Windows 7 64 bit

The XP mode is a feature of Windows 7 to run for 32-bit Windows XP directly from Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit, from a virtual machine. Technology virutalisation Virtual PC installs a Windows XP SP3 directly in Windows 7 to run older applications. You must download two packages, the first contains the version of Windows XP to virtualize, the other contains Virtual PC, virtualization environment.

Re: Installing Virtual XP on Windows 7 64 bit

VMware Player allows anyone to try new operating systems without rebooting your PC to switch between them. Unfortunately, Virtual PC only supports 32-bit machines virtual. To run any 64-bit virtual machine will have to install Windows Server 2008 + Hyper-V, or use a 3rd party program like VMware Workstation virtualization and Sun Virtual Box (free).

Re: Installing Virtual XP on Windows 7 64 bit

XP Mode only runs on Windows 7 Ultimate/Enterprise and requires hardware VT. Do you have these?

Also, there's a thread mentioning Zinstall:
Upgrading from XP to Windows 7 64bit..

Zinstall is like XP Mode, only also automatically transfers everything from XP to Windows 7. And it works on any Windows, hardware and on 64bit as well.
It might work for you.
