Windows 7 hangs for Disk read operation

Hello,

I have recently installed Windows 7. This is really annoying!
Try to insert a CD in your disk drive & start your computer. The disk will be read first & then you can access it this really sucks. Some times copying media the explorer too hangs..
Are you guys also facing such problems?

Why they don't fix such problems in advance?

Depends on your system I guess. My friend has a similar problem, hope that'll get fixed. You should add that the Computer folder should save the drives view and refresh it while showing the old ones. Running an operation like that in a separate process would not be enough (it may have a freeze that part of the basispit, waiting on some information to go) - that 's why I suggested that sandboxing type operations.

Well I have tried installing windows 7 for once but while installing only my system was hanged so I simply decided not to use windows 7 till it gets its basic bugs fixed. So i recommend all you my friends not to use Windows 7 right now wait for some period. Thats why I am not yet going from Vista to 7. I’m scared I could kill my computer. The defragging console/tool (not sure what to call that) is a joke. I like options.

Well all i can say that thanks for mentioning such problem. I know it really an annoying problem for the windows 7 explorer. There are still more reasons behind the freeze of the explorer. I am equally agreed with Champak to wait for some time & then switch to windows 7.
I have already had a problem with the windows 7 explorer here: Windows 7 Explorer jump list disappeared I have to say, the clean version is running excellent.
