| RAID 10 issue with Windows 7
Recently i had upgraded my system from Windows vista to Windows 7. After upgrading to Windows 7, i'm having an issue with my RAID 10. Basically, this will be a build from scratch. x4 500gb hdds, and I would like them in RAID 10. I'm using the on-board Intel ICH7R controller. It's an Intel 975XBX motherboard with Core 2 Duo Extreme X6800 and 4GB RAM. Can any one tell me that how to resolve RAID 10 issue on Windows 7? Any idea about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks. |

Sounds like a boot configuration problem that needs resolving - you shouldn't need to re-install Windows 7. RAID combines two or more physical hard disks into a single logical unit using special hardware or software. Software solutions are typically implemented in the operating system and would present the RAID volume as a single drive to applications running within the operating system. |

Put your really important data on it, and remove it from the computer. In some cases, RAID 10 offers faster data reads and writes than RAID 5 because it does not need to manage parity. Not only do you now have 3TBs of storage, but external backups, and faster seek times. This might not be very "cool", but it works very well. |

Running 7 on highpoint raid card 1820 in raid 5. It is a bios problem, you will have to set raid card to boot before other drives and elect operating symtem from there. Disk striping is used with or without parity. When disk striping is used with parity, an additional stripe that contains the parity information is stored on its own partition and hard disk. |
