    Wuv3is.dll: Application error in windows Updates

    Hi,

    I have windows xp as my machine. I tried to download Windows update manually by from the Microsoft Web site, I got Application error : Wuv3is.dll. What does this error mean ??

    Wuv3is.dll not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly. You should be alert about wuv3is.dll file, This may often caused by viruses named for valid Windows files, such as updating libraries engine. First, check whether there are any viruses on your pc then delete wuv3is.dll. Click Start, then click Run, and in the Open box type regsvr32 / u wuv3is.dll and Delete the wuv3is.dll.

    When trying to access the Windows Update Web site, you can not view Web pages or download components.

    Follow the steps outlined below.
    Accept the ActiveX controls
    1. In the address bar, type http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and press ENTER.
    2. Product Updates Click on the bar left hand menu.
    Change of Internet security in the Middle
    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. On the View menu in the toolbar, select Internet Options.
    3. Click the Security tab.
    4. Make sure the Internet zone is selected in the Zone box.
    5. Choose Medium security settings and click Apply.
    6. You will need to close and restart Internet Explorer for the changes become active.
    7. Disable antivirus software before accessing the site.
    8. Start Windows Update and accept ActiveX controls.

    Try this steps, to solve Wuv3is.dll error :

    1. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
    2. If you are unable to access this Web site, see option 2 below.
    3. Click Product Updates.
    4. Click Critical Updates on the left-hand column.
    5. Check the box to the left of Microsoft Virtual Machine. (If Microsoft Virtual Machine is not listed, you already have the latest version installed.)
    6. Click Download.
    7. After the Virtual Machine is successfully installed, restart your system for the upgrade to take effect.
    8. Try again to connect to Windows Update and download the component.
    9. Change the security settings back to the original setting.
