| 64bit program wants to install in x86 folder
When I was installing the 64 bit version of windows 7, I was encountered by a problem in two of the program files. I wanted to install the full version and so, installed the original crysis that will run a 64 bit version. But, when I am doing this, it is prompting me to install in the default "Program Files (x86)". I do not know why this 64bit program wants to install in x86 folder. Is there any way I can give a different path in place of the x86 folder? |

There is no problem if a 64bit program wants to install in x86 folder because both the program files are there for organizing your installation folders. It will not make any difference in whichever folder you do the installation. Inorder to avoid overwriting, you need to install 32-bit as well as a 64-bit version of the same program. I had gone through with such a problem when I was installing a game that had both 32 bit and a 64 bit installer. Check out once again, properly that you are trying to install a 64 bit program or a 32 bit one. |

The 64bit program wants to install in x86 folder means that there is some problem with the game that you are trying to install. It must not be the right version of the game that you are trying to install. Or may be the data on the CD has been corrupted. Did you buy the CD of the game from an authorized retailer? If yes, you need to the exchange the CD and check for installation with the other CD you bring. If not the seller must have duped you with a wrong CD. Did you buy the game or have you download the game from any site or anything? If you have downloaded the game, then may be you have downloaded the wrong version or may be the link which was within it may be the link to the other version of the game that it why you are being prompted by the 64bit program to install in x86 folder. Download the same game from some other site and then, try installing it again. Hopefully your problem will be solved. |
