How to speed up file transfer

I am using HP desktop and Windows XP installed in it. I have 256 Ram so that when I transfers files from one location to another it takes more time. When I copy files from CD it requires more time. Suggest me software that will accelerate speed of copy paste process.

TeraCopy is file coping utility which is available for windows only. TeraCopy speeds up file transfer. Using this you can pause, resume and test file copy operations. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjust buffer to minimize seek time. It speedup the file transfer between two physical hard disk. If copy error occurs then TeraCopy will try several times and if not possible then just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.

BurstCopy is a software which act like a hard drive accelerator. It significantly increase file transfer speed. It takes full advantage of DMA support to minimize seek time.BurstCopy is able to reduce hard disk noise during file transfer. You can also use BurstCopy to pause or resume file transfer process. When error occurs, a friendly window will inform you about error, and allow you to choose the appropriate action.

It allows full-control over the copying/moving process by using pause, resume, restart features. It help to fixed problems with creating shortcuts in explorer. It is available in multiple language.
