Can drives of computer will be password protected?

Can it be possible to protect my whole drive with password, so that whenever anyone click on my drive of my computer then it first ask to enter the password and if right password provided then only that person will given access to that particular drive. Can anyone such setting or some third party software application which can be used in this situation? I am currently using windows xp service pack 2.

Yes off course, you can do it by using third party software. I don't know whether there would be any setting from which you can get this or not? But, yes by use of the third party solution such as folder lock and others you can achieve this. You just need to buy full version of this. If you try for trial version, then when your software expires it will allow to open your drive without authentication. You have to pay for that. Ok, try it. It will solve your problem.

If you want to make your drive password protected then I don't think that it will be possible by the use of any setting into the operating system. You have to use third party software. Or you can make your all folders of drive inaccessible by using WinZip or WinRAR. For that you need to go to the folder you want to protect. Then right click on the folder and just compress that folder and go inside it and right click and click on add a password and you will get that particular folder as an password protected. Or you can do use of MySecretFolder XP application for same result.

    • Protected files are hidden as well
    • All features well suited for privacy

    Stealth:
    • No evidence of Folder Lock installed
    • Remove all traces and shortcuts
    • Press hotkey to run Folder Lock
    • Program supports 64-bit based OS

    Monitoring:
    • Hack Attempt Monitoring
