Hi all,
I recently installed Windows 7 over XP. Yesterday I decided to delete the windows.old folder, as I decided I didn't need it.
When I started my computer today I got a message suggesting there was nothing to boot from, so I went into the BIOS to change the boot order.
I couldn't find my main HD in the list. I am unable to even re-install windows from the disk, because it hangs on the setup screen after you select your country/time zone etc.
Because the pc isn't recognising the HD, I cant seem to even format it using DISKPART etc. I'm very confused!
My feeling is that the windows.old folder contained boot info or some kind of path that allowed the computer to start up?
Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Matthew
