Multiple ActiveX instances

Hi,

Fist post here, so here goes..

Current scenario @ work is... Using either our new 2008 Domain Server with Terminal services now called RDS, or implementing a virtualised solution (server running up to 15 instances of XP) allowing remote users access to our internal servers which are running specific services over https with varying Active X pluggins required for different jobs.

So the decision I’m up against is which method do I implement.

The underlying element here is that each user / session will require the ability to change the version of Active X in any particular session they may be running, as different services require different instances to be run.
Will TS /RDS support this requirement?

The virtual solution I’m guessing would allow for this as each connection would in effect be on a separate virtual machine, allowing the user to administer each IE session as desired.

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter,

Alex

Re: Multiple ActiveX instances

If multiple instances of the control are used in the same file, each instance must have a unique name specified in the ID attribute of the <OBJECT> tag. The ID attribute is case-sensitive. If you define an ActiveX component in EAServer before implementing the ActiveX component, the client developer can build the client at the same time you are building the ActiveX component.

Note: When you define an ActiveX component, you must enter the ProgID. Do not use underscores in the ProgID for the component—use a period instead.
