| Ubuntu will not boot with 2.6.31 kernel
I upgraded my system to 9.10, now I have a problem with the login-screen. The system halts at login-screen and flickers a lot. My new kernel version is 2.6.31. Is it a problem with the kernel version or GDM. Help will be appreciated.  |

How did you upgrade your system. Did you upgrade your current system from internet using update manager? I would suggest you to download a ISO file and check the system from a live disk. Try to reinstall with the latest ubuntu version. If you have any more problems do post back... |

I had the similar problem, but when I reinstalled ubuntu every thing was smoothly working. This problem occurs when you upgrade ubuntu versions. I think Reinstalling it will solve your problem. Try it out yourself and if any problems do post back... |
