    Can't open Task Manager

    Hi,

I have windows xp running on my pc. When I open task manager by clicking ctrl+alt+del. It says it is used by another program, but I don't know what program it could be using. Is there some way I can restore access to my task manager?

Sometimes a program can not be removed completely because it is "still" open, make the list in the taskbar. It is sometimes necessary to use a free program like Windows Cleanup utility to uninstall programs. Or you may have been infected with spyware and just try to download superantispyware.

To open Task Manager, try this first

    1. Click Start and then click Run.
    2. Type Cmd in command prompt.
    3. Hold down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT at the same time, and while holding it down, press ENTER.

Download ComboFix but It takes more time to properly clean the system. Read through this whole procedure and if you have any questions, please ask before you start. Then, either print or copy this page to Notepad and save it to your reference desk because they do not have any browsers open while you are carrying out some of these instructions.
