Zettabyte File System(ZFS)

Hello,
I am working for data center. we provide data to other organization. this data is encrypted for the reason of security. we maintain data under various file system. one of my friend tell me about Zettabyte File System(ZFS). What is that?? Is it secure to use ? Coz this the first time i heard about this. Anyone know about this?? Any suggestion??

Re: Zettabyte File System(ZFS)

Zettabyte File System (ZFS) is a huge step in the file systems. It have great ability for greater space for files. It on existing file provides more space for files, the administration significantly improved and greatly improve data security. The key area is the file of the administration system, followed by data security and file system size. ZFS is part of a realization that the concepts of existing file systems are little changed since the early days of computing. Then a computer was aware of a disk that had the files. A file system related to a disk.To unique offering more space and bandwidth of an abstraction software has been added between the file system and disks. It has been called a volume manager and virtualised multiple drives into one volume. It provides greater space for files, hugely improved administration. Each volume has to be administered and growing volumes and file systems takes effort.

Re: Zettabyte File System(ZFS)

It provide a good Data security.Data protection by RAID is intelligent, but goes only so far. When data is written to disk, it replaces the current version of data. There are cases of stray or ghost written, badly directed, written, the DMA parity errors, the disk driver bugs and accidental overwrites according to the people of ZFS, the standard control approach will not detect. If Discs are mirrored then a block is written simultaneously to each mirror. If a disk or controller suffers a blackout while the mirror is out of sync and needs to re-synchronize with its twin.ZFS done things differently. Firstly it uses copy-on-write technology so that existing data blocks are not written too much. Instead of new data blocks are written and stored with the control pointer controls them.Secondly ZFS disk content looking for checksum / data mismatch. This process is called wash. The defects are corrected and a ZFS system exhibits what IBM calls computational capabilities independently, it is self-healing.

Re: Zettabyte File System(ZFS)

ZFS uses 128-bit addressing scheme and can store 256 trillion Zettabyte. A zettabyte is 2 to the power 70 bytes or TB dollars. Limit the ability of ZFS are so far from inconceivable. This command is catchy but unlikely to be a resolution factor of 64-bit file capacity limits decades.ZFS system to provide good all Administration. With ZFS storage enters a pot, called zpool. Each disk or array added to ZFS disappears into this common pool. People ZFS characterize this storage pool as being similar to virtual memory. There a computer without a new port of ZFS to Windows Vista and its own plans advanced file system have recently been downgraded with changes file system.
