Sun Java6 Jre corrupt

I tried to install java jre. While the installation was in progress, i quite the installer, now it cannot be installed again and cannot be removed. It says Sun Java6 Jre corrupt.

Did you do download the jre package from the internet? How did you install the it? Was it a .deb package? Or source? Did you get any error while the process was installing the jre package? Why did you quite the process in half-way? That might have corrupted the package. See if you can download and install it all over again... Try to retry after rebooting...
