Screen resolution changes on startup

It seems to really funny that windows forgetting my screen resolution settings, it changes my settings on every next bootup, on every startup i have to set the screen resolution . How can i make windows to remember my screen resolution settings? btw its xp.

Try following and see if it helps you somewhat:

1. Change your monitor screen resolution and then right click on the desktop and under arrange icons , choose lock the desktop.
   
2. Control panel -> display -> settings->troubleshooting lower the hardware acceleration.
   
3. Right click my computer choose properties -> advanced-> performance -> settings
   
4. Click adjust for best appearance.
   
5. Now restart and check if the problem is still exist or not.

It could be a corrupted display driver. Try updating it to see if that helps. And also go to start>run>msconfig, and disable any NVidia Desktop managers, or driver helpers.

First we would need to know what type of video you actually have. Reinstall video card driver. And also see the following threads:
