Re: Black screen after installing Roxio Easy CD Creator

Well, i have also faced this problem on my Xp computer for the same reason. This problem occurs because of device conflicts with the CD-ROM driver. To resolve this problem, repair the Windows installation. To do so, follow these steps:
  • Insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD in the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

  • When prompted, press SPACEBAR to start from the CD.

  • Type r to repair the Windows installation.

  • Type the administrator password to log on to the Recovery Console.

  • Change to the Windows\System32\Drivers folder. To do so, type chdir system32\drivers at the C:\Windows prompt, and then press the ENTER.

  • Type rename Cdr4_xp.sys Cdr4_xp.old, and them press the ENTER.

  • Type rename Cdralw2k.sys Cdralw2k.old, and them press the ENTER.

  • Type rename Cdudf_xp.sys Cdudf_xp.old, and them press the ENTER.

  • Type exit, and then press the ENTER key to exit the Recovery Console and to restart the computer.

Re: Black screen after installing Roxio Easy CD Creator

I think the only way to resole this problem is by repairing your windows installation. While installing Roxio Easy CD Creator, sometimes it causes some conflicts with the CD-ROM driver. You can easily repaire yuor windows by using Recovery console. To know how to use Recovery Console just go through these:-
  1. How to Install and optimize the Recovery Console in XP
  2. How to access recovery console in windows xp sp2
  3. Install Recovery Console in XP Boot Menu
  4. Access Recovery Console at startup
