If you are upgrading the current Ubuntu, just backup the files which are not based on OS and you need it frequently... You may need these files... Also backup all the important data files from other partition and anyother files you feel is important and you dont want to loose... |

Backup All the contents of the /home directory as it has all the saved documents music and settings. This can be used to apply the same settings to the newer OS. Also any other file which you feel important as Patio mentioned... |

should i also backup the data from the other partitions which are going to be untouched? Please advice me on this too. I think i cannot take backup of the home directory as filesystem and bootloader and everything has changed in the new OS that Ubuntu 9.04, what can be done about this? Any help? Thanks again... |
