Cannot Uninstall Ubuntu and i get Grub 22 error

There is a problem with my computer. I recently uninstalled ubuntu, but then after a reboot windows didn't start. This was dual boot system. I Cannot Uninstall Ubuntu and i get Grub 22 error. Can anyone help me please...

How did you uninstall Ubuntu from your computer? I think you formatted the hard disk from disk manager on Windows. Is this correct? I don't think this will work as grub boot loader owns the MBR and you have to remove grub from the MBR so that it is completely removed. Also you need to repair install Windows so that windows takes over MBR. Hope this helps...

Ok, I will repair install Windows XP. But i want to know if this will affect my installed Windows OS? Will i loose data? How do i take backup? Please help me, i have many important documents on my Windows partition of which i have no backup. Please if anyone could help me...

There's no need to reinstall or repair windows. And your windows will not loose any file. All you need to do is repair the MBR for windows. Boot from windows xp cd and press R at first screen for repairing windows through recovery console. When on command prompt press enter 2 3 times and when you are at C:\Windows> prompt, type "fixmbr" And then reboot your computer. Done!!
