| How to Create a System Image in Windows 7 I just purchased a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium on it which guarantees a win up grade 7 Premium home. Does anyone know if you can make a backup of the system by win7 home premium? I'm pretty sure you can with the publishing business, but are not sure of the original premium. |

The new backup utility in Windows 7 is really very impressive and the creation of an image will be possible in all versions. Now you can create an image backup of the machine without the need for a third party utility like Ghost or True Image. You just just finished installing a new copy of Windows 7 at your computer and is set to your liking. One of the first things you should do now is create a disk image so that in the event of an accident you will be able to restore to its current state. An image is an exact copy of everything on the drive and return it to its current state. It's probably best to create an image where everything is clean and organized on your system. This will make the smallest image file and allows you to restore the system to function properly established. |

To Create a System Image in Windows 7 : * Click on the Start button. * Type ‘Backup’ into the search box. * Choose the ‘Backup and Restore’ Center option. * This will take you to the ‘Control Panel –> System and Security –> Backup and Restore’ page (see image above). * Select the ‘Create an image backup’ option (circled in red above). Choose where you want to save the image. You can choose between another drive on the same machine, a network drive or you can burn it to a bunch of DVDs. |

Windows 7 has an in-built option to create a system image or a disk image with the use that you can take snapshots of the Windows partition containing Windows and all programs along with the settings and files. Go to Start Menu, then select Control Panel, click on System and Security, select Backup and Restore, then select Build System Image
