How to get rid of Sad Mac

    Hi,
I need some information on Sad Mac icon. I have seen the same in my clients pc. Nothing happens after the icon appears. Does it like BOSD in Windows. Why does it occur and what is a remedy for the same. Apple has associated the same icon in Apple iPod also. And if this comes in this portable media player then does it means that the iPod is dead. What are your conclusion on this. Thanks.

The error comes up means that your system software or operating system is faulty. There are many error codes related to this. At this your Macintosh will not start up. So you have to re-install it. There can be other hardware issue also. The error frequently comes when you turned on your MAC PC when it shows you a issue of logic board or memory. If you find any hard ware issue then it is better to boot the system by using a floppy disk.

It is a hard drive related issue. If the system software is unable to fully load up at the boot time then the error comes up. To fix this you can do this. Reboot the computer again by holding down the option key. If you have the Sad Mac screen then just simply hold down the left option key and press and leave the power button. After that you can see a floppy disk icon. Insert the MAC system disc and now you can see a welcome screen of MAC. Here you will have to replace damaged or corrupt system file. To do it open the system folder and choose the System & Finder option. Put them on your hard drive. Replace the files & reboot.

When you see Sad Mac then hit the power key in the MAC PC. When MAC boots up then it scans up your memory and perform several diagnostic test. Under such conditions if a test fails then you see the Sad Mac icon appear. This is mainly due to hard ware failure. It is better to boot your MAC system with a floppy drive and replace any damaged system file. And if still no success then better to put back your operating system.
