unable to open oeaccess.inf Error code 0x2 at line 0

I am on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and whenever I try to go into Add and Remove Components, I get an error saying that: "unable to open oeaccess.inf Error code 0x2 at line 0"? Can anyone tell me what does this means? I am getting very annoyed with this error message.

Have you tried system restore or so? Also, which version of Internet Explorer you are using on your pc? oeaccess.inf is a inf file that controls the visibility of the Outlook express icons. Also try to go into Start then Run and type there sfc /scannow.

I got a fix to this problem, first browse to c:\windows\inf\ ...
    edit the sysoc.inf file...
    save the file...
now you can add/remove windows components

    This should work:

    1. Insert your WinXP CD
    2. Go to Start > Run. Type in: Expand D:\i386\NETOC.IN_ -r C:\Windows\Inf, hit OK

Where D:\ is your CD drive, and C:\Windows\ is the drive & directory where you have your OS installed.
