Hang on Vista 64 bit install

During a fresh install of Vista, after going through the initial setup, vista hangs. I have already used kill disk. Once it gets to the point of expanding files, the disc just acts like it wants to spin but doesn't.
My laptop is an Asus M50SV, and I have a Intel T9300 64bit processor. I have no other computer and this is my work laptop...Help!

I think your Vista DVD is corrupt. See if can get a new CD from microsoft. Also see if you have the original disk, this problem occurs with the pirated copies as they are infected by virus many times...

check that your hard drive is in proper condition and not having any bad sector as that can be the problem so try to scan hardisk with HDDregenrater application that is bootable disk application for recovering bad sectors

I will try the regenerator, but will Microsoft lend me a copy for install if I send them my oem copy?
