Can not boot without grub

I have a hard disk of 1TB. In this I am running Windows Vista and other OS partitioning it. Since I made this manipulation, it was mandatory that I plug my hard disk before turning on the pc so it can run the Grub and then choose which I want to boot.

So far, so good for the best of worlds, when suddenly last night I decided to clean the partitions with the disk management tools.

I had completely forgotten that I duplicated boot and I had the Grub to run.

And this morning all drama started, impossible to run vista (Grub loading, error 25 ...) so I understand the stupid mistake I made yesterday ...

I thought I could put the vista cd and "repair" but the problem is that it's a Dell, so no vista cd!

Can anyone take me away of this problem? How can I boot without grub?

Re: Can not boot without grub

You reinstall Linux on the second hdd is the only simplest solution. You will like that minimum access to data is residing on the hdd that contains Windows, so the best part is that grub will be reset. If this is not the case you will have to find a vista cd to reinstall the bootmanager (windows equivalent of grub).

On my second HDD? You mean is my second partition? I do not see how I can do because nothing works I'm stuck at grub error 25. However I can still access the BIOS.

Re: Can not boot without grub

I thought you have an external hard drive with 2 partitions, right? You only have to boot from the Linux cd (set the bios to cd rom first boot position). I remember that grub has parameters ... including some who can see / edit the config file ... look on the internet param of grub.
