Cannot install VLC Player on ubuntu 9.04

I have recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 and i cannot install vlc player on it. i dont know what problem is caused but i Cannot install VLC Player on ubuntu 9.04 When i try to install vlc i get this error :

vlc: Depends: libqtcore4 (>= 4.5.1) but 4.5.0-0ubuntu4.1 is to be installed
       Depends: libqtgui4 (>= 4.5.1) but 4.5.0-0ubuntu4.1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

Can anyone help me?

Did you try to update VLC player from the alpha package? Or you were trying to install VLC player fresh? I think this issue arises when you have installed VLC Player's alpha packages and the you try to update with the newer one. Do post back...

I dont know which VLC i had, the version was 0.9.9a. But yes, i tried to update it with the instructions for updating vlc player from vlc's website. I screwed the installation. I uninstalled the vlc player and tried installing the package again, but still i cannot install it. Can anyone help..?

The VLC Player 0.9.9a was the alpha version. Well try to install the package again and see if the problem is solved. If not try to install the older version. Once the older version is installed, update it to the newest version. All the best!
