No sound on ubuntu 9.04 on hp mini netbook

Hello friends, i have been trying to figure out the problem but dont know what to do, can anyone help me? I have hp mini netbook and i have installed ubuntu 9.04. There is no sound on ubuntu 9.04 on hp mini netbook while windows xp works perfectly... Any help? Thanks in advance...

Bump! I have the same problem? can anyone help with this? Well there is a way to get this working but i dont know how, my friend and i brought the hp mini netbook togather from the same shop and he got it working and i want to get the sound working from my netbook. Please help guys.

You need to download and install Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix version on your HP mini netbook. This is a version which is specially made for netbooks. Try and install this, it will get the sound working. Also download necessary drivers if required...

I had this issue once which i overcame. You need to download the ubuntu image from HP's website which is nicely tweaked for HP's mini laptops and netbooks. It installs very quickly and installs all the drivers and softwares which are necessary for the netbook. Try it out and post back...
