Dell Inspiron 2600 gives 2 short beeps code at startup

I'm having a Dell Inspiron 2600 on which i had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. Up to last night it used to work fine, but suddenly now when i try to turn on my system it gives out 2 short beeps code at the startup. So, can any body tell me that what does dell 2 short beeps code means? does any body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.

According to me it seems that your video adapter has failed, or the video memory is having a read/write failure. For that you need to reset the video card. If the video card is a PCI video card, then you need to move it to another slot.

It can also be a memory error. If its a memory error then in order to resolve the issue you need to remove your RAM and check out whether its functioning properly or not or other wise you can insert another new RAM on that particular RAM slot.

Those beeps may be your computer might emits at startup. There might be a problem with the system’s memory. For that you need to reset the memory DIMM or SIMM modules. Some issues are caused by owner carelessness, others require hardware replacement. If you’re unsure try to contact Dell Technical Support in order to get rid of the above issue.
