Dell Dimension will not boot from CD drive

I am having a Dell Dimension Computer with me & i wanted to format it... I don't know what might be the problem with it but it is not booting the Windows Installation CD when putting in the CD/DVD ROM Drive...! Can Anyone tel me how to resolve this problem????

Dell Dimension... Firstly did you change the Boot sequece setting... if not then restart you computer & on the first screen itself press F2 button which will lead you to BIOS & then press F12 to get into setting of Booting Sequence... Now change the Booting Sequence from first Hard drive to CD ROM & then second to DVD ROM if any & then Third to Hard Disk... & then exit & press yes if ask to save the setting... Then you will see that you are booting from it...!

The first Solution to this Thread it given correct but if after doing the same you are not able to work with it... Then i think your bootale disk is corrupted or is damaged.... That the ROM might be not able to boot from it.... So i will ask you to first check the CD in other computer & if even there doesn't work then make the new CD for it....!

If both theabove solution doesn't work then i think you need to check for the Hardware detection in your computer... But still i found a similar thread on it... I think you must have a look at it hopefuly you will find the solution for it...!
